Welcome to Caia
The small but well-stocked town of Caia lies next to the Armando Emílio Guebuza Bridge in central Mozambique. Stretching for over two kilometres, the bridge is a major crossing point over the mighty Zambezi River. Caia acts as a transit hub for travellers headed to other parts of the country and is a convenient place to refuel, do banking and pick up essential items. A short drive from the town you will find Catapu Forest Reserve, an outstanding bird-watching spot. The conservancy’s wide array of exotic avian species include the White-chested Alethe, Southern Banded Snake-Eagle, African Paradise Flycatcher. It is also home to small mammals such as nyala and sunu, as well as over 280 tree varieties.
