Welcome to Lengwe National Park
Situated in beautiful Malawi in the Lower Sire Valley, Lengwe National Park is the northernmost reserve in Africa where visitors can see the striking nyala antelope, with its distinctive white stripes. Stretching over 900 square kilometres, the landscape is characterised by dense woodlands, flat grasslands, low undulating hills, and unique rock formations. The park’s mixture of forested groves and open fields also provides a habitat for other antelope, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas and the occasional leopard – though these stealthy cats keep a low profile and are seldom seen by tourists. Approximately 300 bird species have been recorded at Lengwe, including rare species such as the barred cuckoo and the black and white flycatcher.
