Nkhata Bay

Situated at the most northerly point of beautiful Lake Malawi, Nkhata Bay is a vibrant port town comprised of steep forested hills centred around a small fishing harbour with a wonderful beach just to its south. Known for its crystal-clear waters, fine beaches, and sheltered bays edged by forested rocky headlands, this legendary bay is a popular destination for travellers across the globe. Various accommodations are on offer, including numerous camping sites and small lodges. A historical point of interest is that this was as far north as David Livingstone travelled on Lake Malawi.
