About Murchison Falls
Murchison Falls is a spectacular waterfall located at the apex of Lake Albert on the Victoria Nile in Uganda. It is the centrepiece of the Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest protected area. The waterfall is formed by the Nile squeezing through a narrow gap in the rocks, only 7 meters wide, plunging 43 meters into a thunderous roar. The waterfall is named after the British geologist Roderick Murchison, who was president of the Royal Geographical Society in the 19th century. Murchison Falls is a natural wonder that attracts many visitors who want to witness its beauty and power.
