About Simunye

Simunye is a small Swazi town lying roughly 30 kilometres from the border with South Africa, amidst the fertile pastoral lands of the Lowveld. Home to expansive fields of sugar cane, Simunye’s rich history can be explored during a visit to the Royal Swaziland Sugar Corporation or a stroll through the contemporary Sugarcane Museum. Golfers can enjoy a leisurely round of golf at the spectacular nine-hole Simunye Golf Course. Travellers wanting to venture out can take a day trip to the wonderous Hlane Royal National Park, Swaziland’s largest protected area, home to high numbers of game. Lion, rhino and vast herds of elephant – the largest in the country – roam its bushveld plains and hardwood groves, while a myriad of raptors and other avian species provide interest for birders.
