Mkambati Nature Reserve

The Wild Coast, South Africa

About Mkambati Nature Reserve

Perched on Pondoland's northeastern coast, Mkambati Nature Reserve reveals a diverse landscape of indigenous forests, grassland plains, and rocky beaches. The Mkambati River flows through, creating waterfalls like Horseshoe Falls and Strandloper Falls before reaching the Indian Ocean. Other attractions include a secluded forest cave and misty Falls, complemented by Four Falls and the Mtentu and Msikaba river gorges, where endangered Cape vultures circle above. Activities include picnics, bird-watching, self-guided game viewing, fishing (permit required), and wildlife encounters with chacma baboons, black-backed jackals, and Cape vultures.
