Spanning 10,000 pristine acres, Elandsbaai Nature Reserve shelters over 500 wildlife species, from eland to black wildebeest. This provincial and Natural Heritage Site preserves unique flora and protects rare fynbos vegetation and their associated wildlife, with over 850 plant species, many endangered. Birdlife is rich, including the world's largest bird, the ostrich. Black eagles soar, while diverse water birds grace the dams. Leopards roam the area, captured by trail cameras.
