Louw House & Museum is the birthplace of renowned Afrikaans poets and writers N.P. van Wyk Louw and W.E.G. Louw. It features captivating displays showcasing the life and work of N.P. van Wyk Louw, a distinguished Afrikaans-language poet, playwright, and scholar born on June 11, 1906, in Sutherland. As the elder brother of fellow Afrikaans-language poet W.E.G. Louw, he saw the Afrikaans language as a bridge linking Europe and Africa.
