Birds of Eden

Birds of Eden, located near Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape of South Africa, is a remarkable wildlife sanctuary set within a natural forest environment. Visitors can walk along elevated pathways through the aviary, observe a wide variety of birds in free flight, and enjoy either self‑guided exploration or optional guided walks on request. The site is notable for its vast two‑hectare dome, the largest of its kind in the world, which stretches over an indigenous forest gorge and provides a habitat for more than 3,500 birds from over 220 species, with a strong emphasis on African birdlife.
