About Church of the Vow

The Church of the Vow stands in memory of the Voortrekkers’ victory against the Zulus in the Battle of Blood River. Built in 1841 by the Boers, the church forms part of a museum complex that includes the Voortrekker Museum and the thatched house of Andries Pretorius, commander of the Boer forces in the battle.
