The Alpaca Loom Coffee Shop & Weaving Studio

Located in the gorgeous Cape Winelands, The Alpaca Loom Coffee Shop & Weaving Studio is an excellent outing for tourists. An hour-long tour of the alpaca barn offers visitors the opportunity to meet alpacas and listen to an informative talk about the beautiful animals. Visitors will be taken through the processes involved in harvesting alpaca flee/yarn such as shearing the alpacas, sorting, cleaning, carding, spinning, washing the yarn, weaving and washing the final product. Visitors can watch the weavers in action as they transform the alpaca yarn into various items such as scarves, shawls, blankets and rugs. The coffee shop entices visitors to enjoy a slice of cake and freshly brewed coffee, while children can play on the jungle gym.
