Bergville

Northern Drakensberg, South Africa

About Bergville

Bergville is a charming stopover en route to the Northern Drakensberg. Two years after Bergville was established, at the onset of the Anglo-Boer War, a blockhouse was built by the British forces. This same building, now a monument and museum, still stands today and is the only surviving blockhouse in Kwazulu-Natal. There are several additional attractions nearby, including the Thandanani Zulu handicraft centre, the Spioenkop Battlefield and Dam resort and the Rangeworthy Cemetery.
