Secunda

Located in the province of Mpumalanga, Secunda is a town set around the region’s coalfields. This rather new town was created to service the employees of the nearby oil extraction refinery. It is home to one of the tallest free-standing structures in the Southern Hemisphere, the 301-metre high chimney at the Sasol Three Plant. Visitors can marvel a variety of engineering and human-made structures, try their luck at the local casino, and enjoy a round of golf at the local course.
