About Ebenezer Dam
Ebenezer Dam, near Tzaneen on the Great Letaba River in Magoebaskloof, is a popular destination for picnics, camping, birding, fishing, and boating. Misty mornings add to its charm, though they can be chilly. The annual Ebenezer Mile swim takes place in March. The dam covers 386 hectares and supplies water to Tzaneen. Divided into a river section with rocks and trees, and a main 'lake' for picnics, it's great for fishing, yielding bass, rainbow trout, carp, kurper, and barbel.
