Thakadu Community Visits

The Madikwe Game Reserve, born out of a sense of social responsibility in an effort to save the area from poverty, has been immensely beneficial to the local surrounding communities.

Thakadu River Camp has pioneered the concept of community upliftment through a unique eco-tourism model in which a community trust owns the lodge and employs the community members to run it.

Thakadu River Camp has helped to uplift the rural village community Molatedi.

In a new offering, guests of the lodge will now have the opportunity to see first-hand exactly how the communities have benefited from the profits accrued by the lodge.

Community visits need to be pre-booked when making your accommodation booking. The extra rate for the community visit will then be advised.
