Lowveld National Botanical Garden

Located in Nelspruit at the convergence of the Crocodile and Nels Rivers, the Lowveld National Botanical Garden is home to one of the largest collections of South African fig trees and a range of unique plant species from the Coastal Belt and the tropical forests of central and West Africa.

In order to provide an informative and interesting experience, signage, maps, and storyboards can be found in strategic areas of the garden and there is also a Braille Trail enabling blind visitors to navigate the park on their own. The pathways and facilities which include restrooms, a tea garden, and restaurant are all accessible to visitors in wheelchairs. There is also a nursery where visitors can view and purchase some of the rare plants which are grown here. While the garden is beautiful throughout the year, the best time to visit is in spring and early summer when most of the trees are in flower.
