About Chievelley Cemetery
The Chievelley Military Cemetery is at the site of the stationary field hospital. This is where Lt Freddy Roberts VC is buried, he was the only son of Field Marshal Lord Roberts VC and he was mortally wounded in the battle of Colenso. They are one of only three father son VC combinations.
