Knysna, South Africa

About Millwood House Museum

The original yellowwood Millwood House was built in the Knysna forests in the Millwood mining village, at the site of the first South African modern-era gold mining boon. After the mines closed, Millwood House was dismantled and moved to its location on the corner of Queen and Clyde Street in Knysna. As one of five buildings making up the Knysna Museum, visitors can enjoy exhibitions depicting local history. The museum is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 16:00, and Saturdays from 09:00 till 12:00.
