About False Bay Park

False Bay Park, a Ramsar site established in 2015, protects the western shore of False Bay, a freshwater bay within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage Site in KwaZulu-Natal. The park contains varied habitats, including sand forest, thornveld, and savannah. An interpretive center displays marine fossils. Visitors can utilize self-guided trails, such as the Dugandlovu and Mpophomeni trails, for bird and game viewing. Boating and fishing are allowed on the lake. Swimming is prohibited due to crocodiles. Viewing platforms are available for landscape observation, particularly at sunset.
