De Doorns

De Doorns is a small town in the heart of the Hex River Valley, serving as a business and shopping hub for the valley and surrounding area. Meaning “the thorns”, De Doorns is characterised by the acacia thorn trees dotting the banks of the Hex River. This is grape country, with plenty of beautiful vineyards and the longest harvest season in the world. Attractions here include historical Cape Dutch architecture, snowy mountains and opportunities to hike, mountain bike and rock climb in the Quadou Mountains.
