About Marievale Bird Sanctuary
Marievale Bird Sanctuary is a protected nature preserve located in Gauteng, South Africa. Access to the reserve is free and it's approximately 10 km2 in size situated on the Blesbokspruit, a major perennial river in Gauteng. According to the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA), approximately 300 bird species frequent the sanctuary.
