Groot Brak Rivier

Although its name (meaning “big dirty river”) might have negative connotations, Groot Brak River is actually a popular holiday resort. The lagoon affords safe swimming and the river is home to a rich fauna. The riverside village itself has a museum depicting life in the area in the mid nineteenth century and the largest known pepper tree in the country.
