Big Tree - Diepwalle

Diepwalle Forest is located some 20 kilometres from Knysna on the lower slopes of the Outeniqua Mountains and is known for the density of its indigenous trees. Particularly noteworthy in the forest is the ‘Big Tree’, an enormous old Yellowwood that stands almost 40 metres high, is thought to be roughly 800 years old and features a network of branches spanning more than 30 metres.
