About Ventersburg Police Museum

This old South African Constabulary Police Station, situated on an elevated iron-rock outcrop overlooking Ventersburg, was turned into a fascinating police museum.

It showcase the long history of policing - all the outbuildings, which include cells, the stable, the pound, the parade grounds and low garden-walls built from rock, have been preserved and restored to their original glory.

The museum opened its doors to the public in October 1983, and since then served the surrounding community in various ways.

The museum itself contains various historic relics emotionally recalling events from the past.

Information on the tragic events dating from the Anglo Boer War is also preserved on site. The services rendered are free and visit to the museum will be a unique and valuable experience to tourist passing through Ventersburg.
