Ladybrand

Situated on the slopes of the magnificent Maluti Mountains of Lesotho and surrounded by the hills of eastern Free State, Ladybrand was founded in 1867 as a frontier post. Now, Ladybrand is a modern, bustling town and a trade, business and administrative centre, but signs of its historical heritage can still be seen in the charming sandstone buildings dotted around town. Ladybrand’s is known for its warm, hospitable locals and offers access to explorations of the mountainous border separating South Africa from Lesotho via the Maloti Drakensberg Route, as well as to the “Mountain Kingdom” of Lesotho.
