Fouriesburg

Set amidst the picturesque Maluti Mountains, Fouriesburg, a charming town, offers a tranquil retreat 10 kilometres from the Lesotho Border. Characterised by rolling hills and vast, vegetated plains, this small town is situated within the Brandwater Basin, bordered by the Witteberge to the west and the Rooiberge to the north. Notable attractions include a historic sandstone church built in 1893, the President Steyn House, and a blockhouse. Meiringskloof Nature Park, a private resort, lies nearby, providing a tranquil escape and serving as the starting point for the Brandwater Hiking trail. The Boesmanskrans hiking trail, amid lush greenery even in winter, is one of the town's many scenic trails.
