Spanning over 500 hectares and embraced by dense forest, Krantzkloof Nature Reserve offers mesmerising views of the gorge carved by the Molweni River. A prominent highlight is the well-facilitated picnic area near the dam by Kloof Falls. Embark on guided walks from these spots to explore the falls and gorge, with organised weekend walks as an option. Encompassing diverse ecosystems, from Scarp Forests to endangered KZN Sandstone Sourveld Grasslands, the reserve hosts a trove of biodiversity. This includes mammals, birds, reptiles, butterflies, trees, and an impressive array of 1500 plant species.
