About Gouda
Gouda, named after the Dutch cheese, is a little village set just 37 kilometres from Porterville in South Africa’s scenic Western Cape Province. It is set between Tulbagh and Wellington at the western entrance of the Nuwekloof Pass in the incredibly beautiful Cape Winelands area, a region known for its fertile farming land producing an abundance of grapes, bananas and peaches. Visitors can’t miss the new wind park consisting of 46 windpower turbines. Other highlights include: an array of watersports on the Voëlvlei Dam, just 6 kilometres outside of Gouda; as well as the network of streams belonging to the Little Berg River. Other popular activities include: 4x4 trails in the surrounding area, and hiking and mountain biking through spectacular scenery.
