The Clanwilliam Museum

Housed in the historic 1877 gaol, The Clanwilliam Museum serves as a cultural treasure trove in Clanwilliam. The museum chronicles the town's rich history, from ancient San rock art to contemporary industries like rooibos tea and leather shoes. Exhibits cover diverse subjects, including the 1820 Irish Settlers, poet C. Louis Leipoldt, comedian Tolla van der Merwe, the Riel dance, and the Clanwilliam quilt.
