About Flower Church
Constructed in 1864, the Flower Church of Clanwilliam, initially a neo-Gothic Dutch Reformed Church, earned its moniker "Blomkerk" (Flower Church) due to its association with the Clanwilliam Wildflower Show. Now under the ownership of the Clanwilliam Heritage Trust, the building was designated a National Historical Monument in 1978, preserving its historical significance and role in celebrating the region's vibrant wildflowers.
