About Prestwich Memorial
The Prestwich Memorial is an ossuary, housing the bones of thousands who were buried nearby, in unmarked graves, before the suburbs of De Waterkant and Green point existed. The information centre explains Cape Town’s colonial history, slave legacy and the development of the harbour. Hours: weekdays 8am to 5pm and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Entrance: free.
