About Nursery Ravine
Located on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain above Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Nursery Ravine is a steep, strenuous hike with around 700 steps. The trail ascends through a rainforest-like gorge, offering breathtaking natural beauty. At the top, hikers encounter the imposing Castle Rock and a population of king proteas. The ravine's name originates from a forestry nursery established in 1893, remnants of which, including a dry stone wall, are still visible today.
