About Moturu Kramat

Resting on the historic Robben Island, Moturu Kramat is a sacred site for Muslims. It was built in 1969 to commemorate Sayed Adurohman Moturu, the Prince of Madura, who was one of Cape Town's first imams to be exiled to the island in the mid-1740s.
