About Cape Town Weather
Cape Town’s Mediterranean climate and its unique positioning at the tip of Africa, close to the confluence of two oceans, means the weather is often extremely changeable and it’s known as a destination that frequently experiences ‘four seasons in one day’. While people on one side of the mountain are enjoying a sunny day on the beach, those on the other may well be experiencing cloudy or rainy weather. As a general rule, summer in Cape Town usually brings hot, windy days and warm evenings from November to January. February and March are the hottest months, sometimes reaching between 30°C – 40°C, and it is far less windy during this time. Winters are wet and chilly for the most part, although the barometer seldom drops below 6°C and rainy weather is often interspersed with warm, sunny days.
