About National Women's Memorial & War Museum
Located in Bloemfontein, South Africa, the National Women's Memorial & War Museum collects, curates and displays items relating to the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902. The War Museum not only provides the visitor with an insight into the course and development of the Anglo-Boer War through its unique collection and exhibitions, but it also brings the visitor closer to understanding the background against which the war took place and the universal suffering it caused. The Museum's seven display halls with their unique exhibits and dioramas provide visitors with an overview of the war. Visitors can also see the National Women's Memorial which was erected to memorialise women and children from the war.
