The Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy is a public institution established in 2020 through the merger of three cultural bodies. It is tasked with preserving Rwanda’s heritage, including the Ikinyarwanda language, national archives, and cultural values. The Academy manages museums, libraries, and heritage sites, and supports artistic, literary, and educational initiatives. It also develops cultural standards, promotes reading and writing, and facilitates the repatriation of heritage objects held abroad.
