About Ombalantu Baobab Tree
The Ombalantu baobab tree, also known as the Tree of Life or Omukwa waaMbakantu, is a giant baobab tree of the Adansonia digitata species. It is situated in the Outapi region on the main road from Tsandi, north of Namibia and is said to be hundreds of years old.
The Ombalantu Baobab tree stands at 28 metres tall and 26,5 metres in circumference.
In the past, the hollowed out trunk of the baobab tree was used as a post office and a chapel.
