About David Livingstone Museum Namibia

A small museum located in Namibia's Zambezi Region near Nkasa Lupala National Park, the David Livingstone Museum commemorates the travels of missionary and explorer David Livingstone as he traversed from Kuruman in South Africa to Sangwali in the mid-1800s. Livingstone befriended the local Makololo chief, Chief Sebetwane and remarked on the region's beauty, as he described it in his diary as 'The Garden of Eden'. Large maps, pictures, and other artefacts line the walls of this thatched clay hut as they chronicle the explorer's life. In addition to the life and times of Livingstone, the museum also features displays on local customs and crafts.
