About Kreplin House
The Kreplin House was built in 1909 as a residence Emil Kreplin, railway company manager and first mayor of Luderitz who remained in office from 1909-1920. The house is double-storeyed, and built on granite foundations, with an asymmetrical facade, gables, a mansard roof, and an alcove, and was designed by Friedrich Kramer and built by the firm FH Schmidt. On 15 June 1983, the National Monuments Council of South Africa proclaimed the house as a national monument.
