Sangwali

Linyanti Concession, Namibia

About Sangwali

Sangwali is a settlement located in Namibia's Caprivi Strip, in the district of the capital Judea Lyaboloma. Sangwali is home to the traditional tribe of the Mayeyi, with the centre housing the Mayeyi rulers homestead. The area houses the annual Batsara Batsapi cultural festival.

During the 1850s, Sangwali was home to the explorer, missionary, and anti-slavery activist David Livingstone. The settlement, therefore, houses a small museum outlining the life and work of Livingstone.
