Hoarusib River Valley

Situated in north-western Namibia’s Kunene Region, running between the Tonnesen and Giraffe Mountains towards the Atlantic Ocean, the ephemeral Hoarusib River and its valley offer a striking image. The snake-like stream winds between steep black and red volcanic canyons, from which the odd-looking Makalani palms grow.
