Tamarin Bay

Tamarin, located on the western coast of Mauritius in the Rivière Noire District, is a picturesque village renowned for its scenic bay and vibrant coastal life. Visitors can enjoy surfing at world-class spots such as Dal and Black Stone or embark on dolphin-watching excursions where Spinner and Bottlenose dolphins are often seen. Notably, Tamarin is home to historic salt pans dating back to the French colonial period, once central to local salt production, and immortalised in surf culture through the 1974 documentary Forgotten Island of Santosha.
