About Place d'Armes
Place d'Armes is located in the historical heart of Port Louis in Mauritius. Facing the harbour, this long avenue is lined with royal palm trees and connects the French-colonial Government House, which is the oldest building on the island, and the statue of Mahé de La Bourdonnais, who was the island's governor in 1735. The statue is today known as the emblem of Port Louis. After exploring and viewing this beautiful, historic avenue, visitors can grab a meal at a variety of nearby restaurants.
