Mulanje Mountain Conservation Trust

Located in Mulanje in Malawi's Southern Region, the Mulanje Mountain Conservation Trust (MMCT) works to protect the Mulanje Mountain Biosphere Reserve. It was set up in 2000 as a non-governmental organisation and became a conservation trust fund in 2005. MMCT focuses on managing the Mulanje Mountain Forest Reserve and receives funding from the World Bank through the Global Environment Facility. From its base in Mulanje, the trust leads efforts to preserve the area's environment and support sustainable use of its natural resources.
