About South Island National Park
The ash-covered South Island National Park in Kenya is a haven for hundreds of birds. It is believed that there are around 34 species of European migrants that embark on their flight home between March and May ensuring a spectacular sight. The local birds, such as ducks, gulls, herons and the open-billed stork live and feed on the shores. Visitors to the island will be able to view game and crocodiles frolicking on the lake.
