Kanyemba Village Walk

Kanyemba Lodge is located just a short distance from Makanya Village – which is also home to the majority of the staff. They are delighted to offer visits to Makanya Village to guests who wish to see a typical rural Zambian village. You will be escorted by one of the staff members, who will introduce you to residents of the village, and its facilities. The village walk is often combined with a short sunset cruise on return to the lodge.

Please note that are requested to NOT take items to give out in the village – specifically sweets, pens, etc. This creates a culture of begging – something they are particularly careful to ensure does not happen. If you wish to make a donation of items, please speak to a member of senior staff, and can arrange for goods to be donated to one of the local schools.
