Gwabi River Lodge Birding

Situated along the tranquil banks of the Kafue River, Gwabi River Lodge offers a birding experience in the Lower Zambezi Valley. For those with an interest in birds, the activity provides the opportunity to spot one of the 378 bird species in the Lower Zambezi Valley, consisting of the Saddle-billed Stork, White-fronted bee-eater, Western-banded Snake eagle, Eastern Nicator and the African Skimmer to name a few. For avid birders searching for something special, the lodge offers guided birding walks or boat tours at select times of the year. Sought-after species during the green season include the African Pitta, Livingstone’s flycatcher and African broadbill. The lodge also welcomes migratory birds such as the Broad-billed Roller, Collared Pratincole and Southern Carmine Bee-eater.
