About Wild Tracks Coffee Walk

Wild Tracks Coffee Walk was started by Wild Tracks in 2010 as a way to showcase how coffee is grown, and to give people the opportunity to meet the farmers and workers who produce the coffee that the company sells. The walking day trip includes a visit to a local organic and Fair Trade coffee farm in Nkoaranga Village, where visitors can admire the oldest Lutheran church in Mt. Meru, small farms and visit a primary or secondary school. The group will then visit a nursery of The Aranga Coffee Group, where they can learn about the difference between organic and traditional coffee farming and see how coffee is grown from young trees to when it is picked. After walking down to the Wild Tracks family’s house, participants are invited to a big Tanzanian lunch in the garden. The last stop is the coffee roasting factory, where everyone can taste freshly roasted coffee while witnessing the process of roasting and grinding coffee.
