Hluhluwe River Lodge Guided Safari Tour

Hluhluwe River Lodge offers a half-day and full-day guided safari tour within the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park. Travellers will drive to Memorial Gate in their own car, where a guide will be waiting. There are secure parking and toilet facilities at Memorial Gate. The guide will drop travellers back at the gate after the safari. Once in the park, there is ample opportunity to sight a variety of game species in this well-populated Big 5 game park. The Hluhluwe section is in the region of 40 000 hectares and is home to the highest concentration of Rhino in Africa. The iMfolozi area of the reserve is a must-see but will require a full-day safari to explore comfortably. The 3-hour trips are the most popular and are conducted in the early mornings and evenings. Imfolozi offers a better chance of seeing Lions, especially on the Sontuli Loop road. Like Hluhluwe, it has breathtaking views from some of the higher areas. A trip to iMfolozi is best conducted for a full day, departing early and returning late evening. There are no restaurant facilities in the iMfolozi section of the park, so it is recommended that guests order a picnic lunch from the lodge. There are some excellent picnic spots to enjoy lunch within the park safely.
