Premier Diamond Surface Tour

The Premier Diamond Surface Tour is an exciting guided surface tour of a working diamond mine. Some highlights of the tour are an introductory DVD display of underground operations and an exhibition of replicas of famous diamonds.

A guide explains the construction of underground tunnels, shafts where the kimberlite rock is hoisted from 500m underground to the surface, the winding engine room and the lookout point of the Big Hole where the volcanic eruption took place 1.2 billion years ago. The last leg of the tour is the diamond cutting and jewellery shop where the end product can be viewed and bought.
